Try hard. you may have heard it or you may have not. Truthfully though what does the phrase even mean? For instance I was in a black ops match one day spectating a guy in search and destroy. It was one on one and this guy couldn't seem to find the opponent. He walked into a room only to be surprised by the enemy who jumped out from the opposite corner and killed him. This guy I was spectating was so furious he went about starting an argument in the lobby with the player who killed him. However that was not it he took it upon himself to look at the guys stats and accuse him of being a "try hard" because he had a 2.12 kill/death ratio and 10 hours of playing time. In another game a player was called a "try hard" because he decided to knife his opponent rather than shoot him. I mean honestly does it even matter. Why should a player be criticized for actually trying to do good in a game? It makes no sense to me at all that part of the gaming community has come to accept this term into their daily vocabulary. I can personally say that when it comes to gaming I am competitive and I do want to win so because of this am I now labeled a try hard. I truly believe the phrase is nothing more than a scapegoat for a player getting his/her a** handed to them in a game. You don't hear me going to a football game and yelling try hard when a team scores a touchdown so why should skilled gamers be called it. The sad truth however is that about half of you reading this have probably called another a try hard so I ask you. Am I a try hard because I want to win or am I a try hard because your skills don't match mine.
